A motorcyclist from British Columbia, Canada, died in a tragic accident near Culbertson July 12.
According to Montana Highway Patrol trooper Noah Pesola, he got a call about the accident around 3 p.m. He said the motorcyclist was dead before he arrived on the scene, which was only 1½ miles away.
Pesola said that a minivan driven by someone from Manitoba, Canada, was headed east on U.S. Hwy. 2 when the driver of the vehicle crossed over the yellow line and struck the motorcyclist. There were no passengers in the mini-
van.
The driver of the minivan was taken to Roosevelt Medical Center in Culbertson and then flown to Billings with non-life threatening injuries.
Pesola said that the case is still under investigation, but at this time no charges have been filed and alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the crash.
Pesola said that the crash appears to simply be an unfortunate accident.
